Frequently Asked Questions

Loeb House is available for wedding receptions or special celebrations (including seated dinners or standing receptions) on Saturdays or Sundays, primarily during the months of mid-June through early September. For other dates during the academic year, Loeb House is pre-booked for many dates for Harvard University events. However, if your event is planned during that time, please contact Loeb House for availability.

 

For a late afternoon or evening wedding, Loeb House would be available for a total of 8 hours starting from 4 p.m. until midnight (this timeframe includes caterer’s set-up and clean-up time). The rental fee includes the use of the space on the first floor only.

Included are the use of the first floor rooms and the front garden, as well as the use of our standard round tables, chairs, Royal Worcester china, and glassware. A security guard will also be provided.

What is included in the rental fee?

Clients may rent space in the Harvard University-managed Broadway Garage located on Felton Street, between Cambridge and Broadway streets. Please email Harvard University parking office at event_parking@harvard.edu or call 617.495.3772

Are tents allowed?

Yes, tenting is allowed in the front garden and must be planned well in advance of the event. Please refer to the suggested vendor list for rental information or discuss rental with our event manager and your chosen catering company.

Is parking available?

Dancing requires the rental of a dance floor. Requests for a dance floor must be discussed with the event manager well in advance of the event.

Is dancing allowed?

Loeb House can accommodate 100 guests seated in the ball room and 40 seated guests in the dining room. For large standing receptions, the foyer and living room can used in conjunction with the ballroom and dining room for up to 200 guests.

How many guests can Loeb House accommodate?

Yes, Loeb House offers air-conditioning and is fully handicapped accessible.

Is Loeb House air-conditioned and handicapped accessible?

Due to local fire regulations, candles may not be used. Covered candle-style lights are available from several vendors.

Are candles allowed?
